City of Marion Data Does Grow on Trees

When the City of Marion purchased the Forestree tree management software in July 2020 to improve the care of council controlled trees, it recognised a flexible system capable of working in sync with other platforms to provide previously unmatched in-depth data analysis, while at the same time, offering a user friendly web based interface.

To maintain a viable urban forest, a council's operational works division is required to absorb increased risk management, customer demand and service level expectations. Forestree is the effective asset management tool which keeps data up-to-date enabling operations to be managed, monitored and shared with all stakeholders and to demonstrate, with certainty and in real time, the volume of work undertaken to deliver greening targets.

Forestree can integrate seamlessly into corporate applications and its data collection easily showcased on a custom interactive web portal for residents – see Marion Tree Interactive https://trees.marion.sa.gov.au - to view tree management in their area.

Since its launch in 2020, Forestree has gained wide recognition and been adopted by progressive Councils across Australia and organisations further afield due to its unique ability to address the challenges faced when managing their most valuable public asset.

The implementation of Forestree has given us a data capability unheard of previously in local government.
